THE GREAT GONDOLA BALLOON RACE fits well into Cub Scout activities. Cubbies love it! It can be used at Pack Meetings or at the Blue and Gold Banquet. The helium will have enough "lift" to keep the gondola aloft for around two hours.
Blue and Gold - Play the game first and use the decorated gondolas and balloons as table decorations. You can get blue and yellow balloons of mylar or latex, and the gondolas can be colored to suit your theme with a prize for the best one. Make sure you put enough weight in the gondola to keep it from lifting off the table during dinner. Tell the boys that if they pay attention to the other activities they can play with the balloons again at the end.
